Prerequisites: (please read)

For the Intermediate Level Lindy Hop Class, you must already be confident with 8-count basics, including the Lindy Hop Swingout and related turns, and basic Charleston steps. We expect that you are social dancing Lindy Hop regularly outside of class. New steps and concepts are introduced each month in the Intermediate Lindy Hop class. The Intermediate Lindy Hop class is meant to be taken continuously over several months or years.

For the Beginning Level Lindy Hop Class, previous swing dancing experience is helpful, though not required. Complete beginners are also welcome in these classes! The same basic material is taught every month, with different steps in the later weeks of the class. Many people take the Beginning Lindy Hop class more than once, to build confidence with the 8-count basics.

All of the classes are progressive, with each week's material building on the previous week's class. Drop-ins are allowed for $20. Please note that if you drop in to one of the classes, it may be in the middle of the class series. To get the most out of the classes, we recommend that you take the full series. If you have to miss a class, consider a private lesson to catch up.

For all classes, no partner is required. We rotate partners frequently in class.
Swing dancing is a great way to meet lots of new friends!

In addition, Hep Jen is a Lindy Hop choreographer, DJ, and performer, recently performing in Kim Nalley's original musical play "Ella: The American Dream", and choreographing for the CCSF Hot Bloods Lindy Hop performance troupe.

Ken Watanabe
