Prerequisites: (please read)

For the Intermediate Level Lindy Hop Class, you must already be confident with 8-count basics, including the Lindy Hop Swingout and related turns, and basic Charleston steps. We will expect that you are committed to practicing your Lindy Hop regularly outside of class. New steps and concepts are introduced each month in the Intermediate Lindy Hop class. The Intermediate Lindy Hop class is meant to be taken continuously over several months or years.

For the Beginning Level Lindy Hop Class, previous swing dancing experience is helpful, though not required. Complete beginners are also welcome in these classes! The same basic material is taught every month, with different steps in the later weeks of the class. Many people take the Beginning Lindy Hop class more than once, to build confidence with the 8-count basics.

For the Beginning Swing Drop-In Class, no experience is required. Beginners are welcome!

All of the Lindy Hop classes are progressive, with each week's material building on the previous week's class. Drop-ins are allowed for $20, which includes the dance. Please note that if you drop in to one of the classes, it may be in the middle of the class series, and you may be behind. We recommend that you take the full series. If you have to miss a class, consider a private lesson to catch up. If you just want to give swing dancing a try, our Beginning Swing Drop-In Class is a great place to start.

For all classes, no partner is required. We rotate partners frequently in class.
Swing dancing is a great way to meet lots of new friends!

Hep Jen
Hep Jen has been teaching Lindy Hop full-time since 1997. Originally from Seattle, she moved to San Francisco in 2004 and quickly established herself in the Lindy Hop scene. Hep Jen ran the Lindy Hop classes at the Verdi Club from 2005 through 2008, and she is excited to return to Tuesday Night Jump this summer to teach for a limited time.

Kevin Munroe
Kevin started dancing Lindy Hop in San Diego, and upon moving to San Francisco, he has become an instantly recognizable dancer on the social dance floor.
